First Aid to Reduce a Baby’s Fever

A child is said to be having fever only when his/her body temperature is abnormally high. Above 37.2 degrees Celsius is considered to be feverish. Fever is simply a natural defense mechanism that aids your baby’s body to fight against infections. So, here are some of the first aid methods to reduce fever.

If your child is an infant then change their clothes frequently as they may urinate frequently. However, if your child is a preschooler then ask her to tell you when she has the urge to urinate. It is always better to use a diaper if your infant has fever.

Drink Plenty of Water

Dehydration among children is another complication during fever. So, make your child drink lots of water to prevent dehydration.

Administer Medicine

Talk to your doctor and give your child the Paracetamol drops or suppositories. See that the room temperature does not exceed 20 °.

Compress
Compress

Put a sponge soaked in warm water on his forehead. Do not cover your child with blanket completely. Do not give a bath. Just give a warm compress on the forehead.
