Headaches are among the most common, annoying, and universally despised conditions around. They range from deep, throbbing aches to sharp, receiving pains, and are hard by almost anyone at one point or another. Here are some of the tips to relieve a headache.

Studies claim that as much as 40% of headaches are due to dehydration. So, the first thing you should do to relieve a headache is to offer a glass of water. Make sure the water isn’t too cold, as this can make a headache worse.

Headaches are sometimes caused by extreme tension in certain muscles. Massaging the muscles to loosen them up can go a long way toward relieving a headache. You can also gently massage the scalp for getting relieved from headache.

Medication

Over the counter painkillers like aspirin and ibuprofen can be great for headaches. Be sure to follow the directions accompanying the medicine. You can give these with the glass of water to kill two birds with one stone.

A good way to relieve headaches is to change the surroundings. Take the person to a dark comfortable place. Make sure there are no loud or highly persistent noises. Also insure that the air is at a moderate temperature, not too hot or cold.
